Functionally identical, a lot cheaper
A used sea container, marketed as a B-grade container, has served for years in global container transport. It has signs of use: dents, rust spots and a weathered coating. But it is wind and water-proof, the doors close and the floor is very solid. For storage, it does exactly what a new container does, at a significantly lower price.
Therefore, for stationary storage we often recommend the variant used. Every used container that RCC sells has been inspected by our own staff at our depot in Rotterdam-Botlek. If you still want the container in your preferred color, we can spray it in our workshop.

We do not sell containers that we have not personally inspected. Every used container is inspected at our depot for wind and water tightness, floor, doors and rubber seals.
Economical for storage
If the container is out of sight and there is no fragile cargo inside, then the smartest purchase is to use it. You pay for the function, not the paint.
Refurbishment is always an option
A new coating, a lock box, extra ventilation or a complete conversion: everything we do for new containers, we also do for used ones in our own workshop.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a used shipping container cost?
Used containers are significantly cheaper than new ones; the difference increases with larger sizes. The price moves with the market and availability. Request a quote for an up-to-date price including delivery.
Is a used sea container waterproof?
Yes. Every used container that RCC sells has been checked for wind and water tightness. Signs of use on the outside, such as dents and rust spots, do not indicate tightness; the door seals and the roof do, and we check those.
Can a used container still be transported by sea?
That depends on the CSC inspection. Many commonly used containers have a valid CSC plate and can therefore be used on the sea, road and rail. If you need a container for transport, please let us know; we will then provide you with a copy with a valid inspection certificate.
What sizes of used containers are available?
Usually 20ft (20 feet), 40ft and 40ft high cube, because these are the most commonly used sizes in transportation. Smaller sizes like 8ft and 10ft are used less frequently. View the current offer above or ask about what is coming in.
